Volunteer weekend for the European mink

On Saturday, 6th October, a group of almost 50 volunteers, mostly young people, with the collaboration of the Iluna Club Youth Association, the El Cristo Association of Friends and the Council, helped clean-up the river banks along the stretch through Caparroso, from the point known as “El Machón” up to “Las Particas”. They worked for almost five hours and removed some 2000 kg of rubbish.

On Sunday the 7th, it was the turn of Marcilla. The day started at 9.30 am with a brief talk given by Juan Tomás Alcalde, and it continued with the inspection and cleaning of the bat boxes placed in the riverine thickets by the ALNUS Nature Association. Once again, the inhabitants of Marcilla were in luck, as it was possible to confirm that the pipistrellus pygmaeus enjoy living in Marcilla, given the fact that these bats were found to be roosting in most boxes.
